Monkton Wyld Farm

Thank you for taking the time to look at our park details
Monkton Wyld Caravan Park is situated on the Dorset/Devon border. The caravan park has a warm and friendly atmosphere and has been run by Joanna and Simon Kewley, the park owners, since they opened it in 1991. Since then Joanna and Simon have gone to great lengths to develop an ideal holiday location for families and those who prefer a relaxing and spacious spot in the country. We are only a short drive from the coast. There are many popular attractions in the vicinity, safe, sandy bathing beaches, the Heritage Coastline, famous for its abundance of fossils and the countryside of West Dorset which is remarkably unspoilt and in many ways is quite unique.
The park has a large secure, caravan storage facility for short or long term use. Comprehensive site shop. WiFi service available.
In 2008 we developed an exclusive holiday homes park set in a separate area to the touring park. Most plots are now sold but last few still available. Contact us for further details

I made a mistake when I booked the site. I said we would be there on the 2nd. when I meant to say the 3rd. On the Saturday I received a call on my mobile asking if we were okay as we hadn't turned up the previous day. Sorted out the mistake and then wished us a safe journey. We arrived and were welcomed by the very friendly staff and soon sorted out a pitch on this excellent site. a very well laid out site with a very nice play area for the children as well. The facilities were really very good, and kept very clean with small but appreciated touches. One that many other sites could copy is there were plenty of hooks in the toilets/showers etc.
There is obviously a really good team running this site.

Best site we have ever visited. Immaculate facilities.Great kids areas including small forrest walk. Site full of flowers with info-spieces etc. New ones planted all round also. Lovely place to relax. Peaceful and serene. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and cared for us when we had a disaster with our equipment. They sorted out a great pitch when we gave info about our autistic son and 79yr old mother. My kids loved it and want to go back!

The first thing to say about this David Bellamy award site is about how friendly and heplful all the site staff are. Next, the loos, showers etc are excellent and maintained to a high standard, even during the busy Summer period (they even have a "Loo Award" for 2010!!)There is a full laundry and clothes lines are also provided. The pitches, as you might expect for a C & C Club site are generous in their proportions and well maintained. Nature watchers will be happy as due to the conservation areas and its country location, there are numerous birds, butterflys, etc to observe. The site has a good shop that is also licenced and papers can be ordered. Dog owners will be happy because as well as the on site dog walk, there is also an excellent dog walk through Monkton Wylde Woods, the route is signposted and maps can be viewed in the office and in the washing up areas. There are two large play areas provided for the children including climbing frames etc.
As regard the site's position, it is on the Dorset/Devon border, ideally situatied for touring this beautiful part of England. Bridport, Charmouth, WestBay, LymeRegis, Seaton, Beer etc are all within a short drive away. Bridport has a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, also there are several supermarkets. Axminster is just 10 minutes from the site with a supermarket, including petrol station. North of the site is undulating countryside with quiet lanes to be explored. For those who like stately homes and gardens, Forde Abbey is 15 minutes away. Beach lovers will like nearby Charmouth and Lyme Regis. The "Cobb"end of Lyme Regis is a good "bucket and spade" beach for the children.
Lastly, a tip for a great day out for young and old, go and see the the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, only 20 minutes drive from this great Caravan and Camping Club Site.

The best camping site I've ever stayed on.
Once checked in we were escorted to our pitch by a lady from reception, and found it to be HUGE.
Toilets, showers, washrooms, immaculate.
Site presentation, excellent.
Kids play areas (we found 2), tidy, varied, well maintained, and very entertaining for our 5 year old.
Site shop even had reasonable prices.
Finding this site has been like discovering treasure.
We will be back.

Monkton Wylde is a fabulous site, the amenities are spotless the staff are so helpful and the pitches are superb. Close to Charmouth, Lyme Regis etc and the Jurassic Coast is well worth a visit at any time. Six people and three dogs spent two fabulous weeks camping on this site and thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly Recomended, give it a try.

Dogs are welcome and there are plenty of local attractions for all ages.
The fish and chip van is excellent.
Special thanks to Andy and Angy for fitting us in at short notice.
